What First Drew You to Yoga and Why?

I Remember taking a yoga class and hearing the instructor say, “there’s nothing to do, and nowhere to go. “ I was hooked then and there! I was about 23 at the time. 30 years later, I’ve got an inkling of what that means. Radical acceptance of myself as already and always whole and complete, without adding anything or taking anything away. This helps balance my enthusiastic, always on the go, fiery nature. I love the practices of yoga!

What Do You Find Most Satisfying About Teaching?

I love teaching yoga as it helps me to dig deep inside myself. From that deep place I help others access their own hearts. I love the relationships that develop in the classroom.

I love watching everyone blossom and relax into their own true nature.

What Do You Find Most Satisfying About Teaching? It is so much FUN!

Favorite Class to Practice Right Now and Why

I love to practice Yoga Nidra. Learning to inhabit the state of conscious deep sleep is so relaxing!

My nervous system thanks me daily. Relaxation Master teacher is my new passion and how I plan to sustain my teaching practice till I die of old age.

Inspirational Quote

Don’t be discouraged by your incapacity to dispel darkness from the world. Light your candle and step forward -Amma

Pervasive stress can consistently overwhelm the nervous system, inhibiting physical and emotional well-being and healing.  This practice offers a systematic, multistage set of relaxation techniques that help induce the state of Yoga Nidra, which is conscious deep sleep.  The state of Yoga Nidra relaxes, restores and allows deep healing to take place in the entire body/ mind field.  This practice helps move the nervous system from hyperarousal (fight/flight/anxiety), into a state of relaxation (rest and digest).  We begin with a brief warm up followed by participants lying comfortably on their backs to follow guided relaxations.  Yoga Nidra is for everyone at any level with a body/mind who wants to experience deep peace, healing and serenity.
